Abstract Submission

Abstract submission deadline is Friday 6 February 2026

We welcome submissions that explore all aspects of animal welfare science, informing our understanding of animals and their welfare. Contributions can take one the following formats: 

  • Talk (typically 13 minutes plus 7 minutes for questions) 
  • Short talk (typically 3 minutes plus 2 minutes for questions) 
  • Poster

When submitting the abstract you will be asked for:

  • its title
  • the preferred format of presentation
  • the name and contact details of all contributors
  • and information on the ethical oversight of the work undertaken.

Abstracts should be in English and not exceed 400 words. Abstracts will be assessed on their scientific and animal welfare merits. If accepted, you may be asked to present in a format different to your preferred one.

Abstracts are submitted via Oxford Abstracts. If you do not have an account, you will have the option to sign up on the sign-in screen.

Support for presenters

Potential presenters seeking support to attend the conference can apply for a 2026 Centenary Conference Travel Grant. Grants are limited and not all applications will be successful. Applications are open until 16 March 2026. Read the eligibility criteria and how to apply.
